Read moreThe Honda Accord and Honda Accord Hybrid are raising the bar for the 2021 model year, with refreshed styling, and a host of new upgrades, including technology and safety features! Keep reading to learn more.
Exterior: For 2021, the Honda Accord gets a Restyled Grille (on the Sport and higher trims), along with improved integration of its Honda Sensing Radar Unit, and also adds new LED High and Low Beam Headlights! Also worth mentioning is the new smaller Fog Lights, plus the new Alloy Wheel design for the LX, EX-L, and Touring trims. There will also be a new exterior color available for the Sport, and Touring grades: Sonic Grey Pearl!
Interior: The updates continue inside with a now standard 8-Inch Display Audio Touchscreen, plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now also standard across all trim levels. In addition, there is wireless charging, which eliminates the extra step of having to connect your devices. All USB ports have also been moved to the centre console, on all grades, for easier access. The Accord Sport and higher trims now also include Dual 2.5-Volt USB Ports, for rear seat passengers. Lastly, all Accord trims have received an added feature: Rear Seat Reminder.
The 2021 Accord Hybrid comes equipped with a Two Motor Hybrid System, and has received updated Engine Management Software, for more throttle control. Meanwhile, the 2021 Accord’s 1.5-Liter Turbo Engine has improved Idle Stop Performance, which means the engine starts-up faster, when the brake is released. The braking system has also been updated for smoother engagement at low speeds, such as in parking and stop and go situations. The 1.5-Lliter VTEC Turbo Engine (with 192-hp) is now standard in the Accord LX, Accord Sport, Accord Sport SE and Accord EX-L models, while the Accord Sport 2.0T and Accord Touring, come with an available 252-horsepower, 2.0-Liter VTEC Turbo Engine.
There will also be a new Accord Sport Special Edition offered for the 2021 model year, which will replace the Accord EX 1.5T. In addition to the already vast amount of equipment offered on the Sport 1.5T, such as Dual Rear USB Ports, Leather Wrapped Steering Wheel/Shift Knob, and 8 Speaker Audio System, the Sport Special Edition includes Leather Seats, Heated Front Seats, Smart Entry, Heated Mirrors, and a Remote Start!
All Honda Accords will also receive a new Rear Seat Reminder, and Rear Seatbelt Reminder as standard equipment for the 2021 model year. Plus, the new 2021 Honda Accord Touring and Honda Accord Hybrid Touring models now feature a new Front and Rear Braking System: Low Speed Braking Control. What makes Low Speed Braking Control so unique is that it uses sonar based sensors, which actually sense objects at low speeds, and even in parking. Honda Sensing has also received some new updates to its Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane Keeping Assist System. For 2021, Adaptive Cruise Control has even smoother braking, when following another vehicle, while the Lane Keeping Assist System offers more natural lane centering. The Steering Wheel and Dash Controls for Adaptive Cruise Control and the Lane Keeping Assist System now also feature industry-standard icons.
